Zaira Malik is a Programme Associate for the Postgraduate Degree and Training Programme.

Before joining UNU-IAS in January 2024, she worked for J. F. Oberline University as a study abroad coordinator. In this role, she collaborated with Sakura Science Program to host students from Pakistan who came to Japan to learn about tsunami reconstruction. She was also responsible for symposiums, grant allocation and accounts.

Zaira was born in Japan to Pakistani parents. She holds a BA in International Relations with a specialization in Peace and Conflict Studies from J. F. Oberline University, as well as an MA in International Relations with a focus on Policymaking in South Asia from the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
