In order to train global leaders who can contribute to solving various challenges in Africa, UNU-IAS has developed a practical training programme through which Japanese graduate students can take internships at partner universities and research institutions in Africa. UNU-IAS will arrange for the graduate students to be interns at partner universities and research institutions in Africa to acquire practical skills, knowledge, and experience. After the on-site training, the participating students will make presentations at a reporting workshop to share their experiences and lessons learned from the programme.
Japanese graduate students at colleges or universities in Japan are eligible to participate in this programme.
The programme duration is as follows:
6-8 Master’s course students: 2-3 months
3-5 PhD course students: 4-7 months
Please note that this programme is only for Japanese graduate students. The application documents are available to download from the Japanese page.
