The Sixth International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI) Global Conference (IPSI-6) will be held from 12 to 13 January 2016 in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
The IPSI-6 conference consists of two main events: a meeting of the IPSI General Assembly and a Public Forum. The General Assembly will be held in the afternoon of Saturday 12 January, and is primarily for information sharing and decisions regarding the future direction of IPSI. It is open to all IPSI members.
The Public Forum is open to the general public, and will be held from the afternoon of 12 January through the afternoon of 13 January at the Empress Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap. The Public Forum is an opportunity for non-members to learn about IPSI and its activities as well as a venue for discussion of various topics related to socio-ecological production landscapes and seascapes (SEPLS), their revitalization and sustainable management. The theme of this year’s Public Forum is “Planning and reviewing strategic actions for sustainable landscape and seascape management”.
For those who wish to attend the IPSI-6 Public Forum, please visit the IPSI-6 event page on the IPSI website.
The event is part of the activities conducted by the International Satoyama Initiative (ISI), a UNU-IAS project working towards creation of societies in harmony with nature, through promoting the maintenance and rebuilding of SEPLS for the benefit of biodiversity and human wellbeing.
