On 17 February 2016, UNU-IAS and UNU-IIGH will be co-organizing a parallel event on Health and Biodiversity during the ASEAN Conference on Biodiversity 2016 (ACB2016) to be held in Bangkok.
ACB2016, organized by the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity in cooperation with ASEAN Member States and other partner organizations, will be held with the theme “Biodiversity for Sustainable Development” on 15–19 February 2016.
This parallel session will discuss potential areas of cooperation to generate further understanding and awareness and contribute to the building of more robust, peer-reviewed evidence on the importance of the interlinked domains of biodiversity conservation, health and nutritional security goals, and the use of different knowledge systems to achieve them. Discussions on areas of cooperation will focus on policy research, capacity development and appropriate learning exchanges, policy advocacy, and supporting good models of implementation.
