On 8 June 2016, UNU-IAS will hold a reporting session, where participants in the 2015 batch of Global Leadership Training Programme in Africa (GLTP) will present the results of their field research.
GLTP, which has been implemented by UNU-IAS since 2013, is a training scheme sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT), and designed to provide Japanese postgraduate students with opportunities to conduct field trips in Africa and work closely with supervisors from local universities.
In the third batch, nine Japanese postgraduate students were selected and conducted field research under the supervision of host universities and institutes in six African countries, including Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Senegal, Uganda, and Zambia. Research covered under the scheme in 2015 included areas, such as environmental pollution and ecosystems in Africa, community-level capacity assessment in rural Africa, and post-conflict peace education.
In this reporting session, participants will share their research outcomes and experiences and joint the growing GLTP alumni network. They will also exchange feedback on the programme with the secretariat.
This event will be held in English only. No interpretation will be provided.
