UNU-IAS will hold the seminar Africa’s Future: From the Perspective of an African University President, featuring Prof. Peter Mbithi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, as guest speaker. Following his lecture there will be a brief presentation on the UNU-IAS Education for Sustainable Development in Africa (ESDA) project, which has partnerships with eight African universities including the University of Nairobi.
Prof. Mbithi, an eminent scholar of veterinary surgery, has been Vice Chancellor since January 2015, guiding his university’s organizational operations to capitalize on emerging scientific, social, technological, innovation and business opportunities. He has over 30 years of experience in providing progressive guidance and management for faculty, researchers, staff and students; directing the research and academic agenda; and building coalitions in support of business growth.
