Finding Solutions for Nature — International Day for Biological Diversity 2021

    This online symposium will mark International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) 2021, on the theme “We’re part of the solution #ForNature”. It will feature presentations sharing the latest developments on the post-2020 global biodiversity framework and initiatives undertaken in Japan. A panel discussion will share detailed action and exchange expert opinions on ways to “be a part of the solution #ForNature.”

    The symposium will be co-organised by UNU-IAS, the Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MOEJ) and the Global Environment Outreach Centre (GEOC). It will be supported by the Japan Committee for United Nations Decade on Biodiversity (UNDB-J; TBC).

    The event will be held in English and Japanese, with simultaneous translation provided.

    International Day for Biological Diversity 2021

    The United Nations has proclaimed May 22 as the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB). Every year, UNU-IAS hosts an event to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues around this day.
