On 13 December 2016, the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ), the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), and the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) will co-organize a G7 Public Symposium on Resource Efficiency and a Low-Carbon Society: Identifying Opportunities and Implications.
Resource efficiency was featured prominently in the Leader’s Declaration of the G7 Elmau Summit in June 2015, leading to the establishment of the G7 Alliance on Resource Efficiency, which aims at sharing best practices among stakeholders including the private sector, public sector, institutions, academia, consumers, and civil society. As an initiative under this Alliance, this event is intended as a forum to facilitate such networking among stakeholders.
The event will be held in English and Japanese with simultaneous interpretation provided.
