UNU-IAS and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MoE), in cooperation with the Kanazawa Junior Chamber, Ishikawa Prefecture, the City of Kanazawa, and the Kanazawa Business Consortium, will co-organize a symposium on local business and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The UNU-IAS Operating Unit Ishikawa/Kanazawa (OUIK) continues to collaborate with regional stakeholders on community planning with an eye to maintaining and utilizing local biodiversity and satoyama/satoumi traditions. For example, the Kanazawa Junior Chamber, made up mainly of small-business owners, has been engaged in activities to promote to SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation); and such action is central to the SDGs being achieved at the local level. This symposium will provide a forum for discussion regarding the contribution that local business can make to realizing the SDGs.
The event will be held in Japanese ONLY.
