On 4 February 2017, UNU-IAS, Wetlands International Japan, and the Global Environmental Outreach Center (GEOC) will co-organize a symposium to celebrate World Wetlands Day (WWD) 2017. The 2017 theme for WWD is “Wetlands for Disaster Risk Reduction”. Celebrated every year on 2 February, WWD marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the same day in 1971.

This event will be held in Japanese only, and no English interpretation will be provided.
