An article published on the Sustainability CSO Forum website (Japanese) features an interview with UNU-IAS experts Akio Takemoto (Head of Programme and Administration) and Mei Maruyama (Programme Coordinator). The article is titled “Sustainability Journey — Climate Change, COP26 and Related Movements”.

The article focuses on UNU-IAS activities at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) held in Glasgow, UK, in early November 2021. UNU-IAS organised a side event on carbon neutrality and the SDGs, contributed to an event on science and films, and announced the development of a new postgraduate degree specialisation on the Paris Agreement.

In the interview, Dr. Takemoto and Ms. Maruyama highlight the importance of young people’s voices, as they are the generation who will be seriously affected by climate change in the future. They also introduced their efforts to disseminate information through live-streaming from experts on the ground.

The original article (in Japanese) is available on the Sustainability CSO Forum website.
