Applications are now open for the 2018 ProSPER.Net Leadership Programme.
The sixth ProSPER.Net Leadership Programme will be held in Melbourne, Australia from 12 to 16 November 2018 and hosted by RMIT University. The theme of this year’s programme is “Leadership for Urban Sustainable Development”.
The ProSPER.Net Leadership Programme aims to create an inclusive platform for dialogue involving different stakeholders, informed policy-thinking and decision-making, new ways of managing knowledge, and implementing research solutions. The programme provides participants with the necessary interdisciplinary skills to lead sustainable development initiatives appropriate to local, regional or global contexts. Participants will go through a unique experience during the programme with a special focus on collaborative efforts, leveraging networks and involving multiple stakeholders.
Successful applicants in this year’s programme will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills in the context of the United Nations’ New Urban Agenda as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They will receive teaching and training on the United Nations’ sustainable development platforms and how they link to municipal settings, research and policy communication, as well as numerous other insights into urban sustainable development and how to lead on this issue from dynamic examples of local leadership in Melbourne.
