UNU-IAS will contribute to the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI) Summit, to be held in Nairobi, Kenya on 27–28 August 2016. Launched by Japan in 1993, TICAD aims to promote high-level policy dialogue between African leaders and partners, and mobilize support for African-owned development initiatives. This year’s summit, which is being held in Africa for the first time since TICAD was launched in 1993, will focus on achieving the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and establishing strategic partnerships with development partners.
UNU-IAS is organizing several events at the TICAD VI Summit, including one as part of the main programme and several side events. Please see below for further details.
