UNU-IAS at the UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn, 6–17 November

    UNU-IAS will contribute to the UN Climate Change Conference 2017, to be held in Bonn, Germany on 6–17 November 2017. Presided over by the Government of Fiji, the conference will include the 23rd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 23) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), as well as meetings of the Parties to both the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement on climate change.

    UNU-IAS will participate in two side events to highlight its Low Carbon Technology Transfer project, one as a contributor to a UN cross-agency event and another as an organizer of a Japan-led event. Further details are provided below.

    About the Low Carbon Technology Transfer Project

    Begun in 2015, the UNU-IAS Low Carbon Technology Transfer project is supported by the Ministry of Environment of Japan. The project analyses international strategies of developed nations for promoting low carbon technology with a view to developing effective strategies for their diffusion to developing countries. The role of UNU-IAS in the project is to examine international cooperation in the area of low carbon technology transfer, including city to city cooperation.
