On 15 March 2016, UNU-IAS held a meeting on Grant for Global Sustainability (GGS) ― a programme supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan and launched on 10 August 2015. The programme has two focus areas, “Inclusive Development” and “Earth Science”, which aim to contribute to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted at the United National General Assembly in September 2015.
Two projects were approved under the below themes for the first year of implementation. Project leaders reported on the progress and results achieved in 2015 and held discussions with the Board Members on project methodologies and future directions to improve results and impact.
