    Biographical Statement

    Dr. Carolyn Payus (Carolyn) is a JSPS-UNU Postdoctoral Fellow at UNU-IAS. She completed her PhD in the field of Environmental Science from National University of Malaysia (UKM). Prior to joining UNU-IAS, she is and currently still working as Senior Lecturer at University of Malaysia Sabah (UMS) since 2005 and now she is on her Postdoctoral leave. Less than a year after her PhD graduation, she was appointed as the Head of Environmental Science Programme under Faculty of Science and Natural Resources in UMS until she joined UNU-IAS in 2019. During the course of her PhD study she been highly involved in research at international level which she has attached to many countries such Ireland, UK, South Africa, America, South America, including most part of Asia regions. Dr. Carolyn is mainly conducting research to water resources security and climate change, and has published various scientific papers in many indexed journals mainly under Scopus and ISI. She also has published 3-books (with ISBN number) during her entire service in UMS. She has won 1-Gold, 1-Silver and 4-Bronze Medals for her research innovations achievements from various international level competitions. Apart from that, she also known to have numerous International Research Grants and Collaborations internationally such as from the Asia-Pacific region (Asia-Pacific Network APN Research Grant) to Royal Society of London. In a mean time, she also a research fellow for Water Research Unit, Natural Disaster Research Centre, and also Head of Climate Change Research Group in UMS.
