Kavitha joined UNU-IAS as an Administrative Assistant in July 2021. She provides administrative support in finance-related work and liaises with UNU Centre Administration offices in Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur.

Kavitha is originally from Chennai, India, and moved to Japan in 2016. She graduated from Kyushu University with an MA degree in Japanese Humanities. Prior to joining UNU-IAS, she worked as an administrative officer in a health insurance project for below–poverty–level residents of Tamil Nadu state in India, where she gained experience in establishment and day-to-day operations of projects in both administration and finance fields, and co-ordination between multiple organisations.
