  • Rumi SakamotoRumi Sakamoto joined the UNU-IAS Operating Unit Ishikawa/Kanazawa (OUIK) in April 2022 as an Administrative Assistant providing general administrative support.

    Rumi graduated from Shizuoka University with a BA in Language and Literature. Prior to joining UNU-IAS, she worked at an international exchange foundation in Ishikawa Prefecture, overseeing exchange programs between foreign and Japanese residents. She has also worked as an administrator at Kanazawa University and as a UNESCO Creative City focal point for Kanazawa City, supporting the implementation of artist-in-residence programs and assisting in the organisation of international conferences. Inspired by her experience in international exchange projects, Rumi’s interests focus on culture and its contribution to sustainable development.
