Jun Oshima joined UNU-IAS as an Administrative Programme Assistant for the Low Carbon Technology Transfer (LCT) project and Global Environment Outreach Centre (GEOC) in June 2016. She has visited several developing countries such as the Philippines, India and Kenya to participate in NGO activities at local sites mainly in her university days when she was majoring in International Relations. Her experience of having worked together with villagers and local staff in these areas inspired her to start learning about sustainable development. Prior to joining UNU-IAS, she worked in research institutes related to international peace and environmental governance in Japan. She also worked in a Japanese NPO which was engaged in land mine clearance projects in Cambodia as a secretary general.
